good thing this was not an art museum with fragile items 😏 •
over the last few weeks I’ve been noticing my thumbs popping up in handstands and I’m working on correcting it, but old habits are so hard to break. yesterday I concentrated during yoga on pressing my entire palm AND each finger flat during down dog, plank, handstand, etc. and holy moly now my forearm muscles are so sore. when you notice a habit that shows up as a consistent mis-alignment in your practice, it is probably a sign that you are overcompensating in a stronger muscle group for a weaker one that doesn’t want to work as hard. so my intention for the next few weeks is to build up my wrist and forearm strength so I can do handstands with flat hands. it’s important especially to strengthen the smaller, micro muscles in our bodies, because these are usually the ones surrounding joints and tendons and that help us maintain mobility and stability as we age. .

If you think gaining muscle is easy or you think you’ll see huge results in a month with a new plan I’m sorry to say this but you are sadly mistaken. It takes months , years even to see huge improvements. I don’t care what Becky on her Instagram says because a lot of these trainers just want your money and I’m her to tell you the truth IT TAKES TIME! If you want to make this happen or make this into a thing you gotta make fitness and healthy eating into a lifestyle for you. Just because someone on Instagram has x amount of followers doesn’t mean they know what they are talking about because I’m seeing some bullshit workouts that LITERALLY DO NOTHING FOR YOU. Stick to the basics and lift fucking heavy. I’m seeing so many people get stuck doing these “insta workouts “ thinking they’ll do something and a year later they are back at square one. Ask someone who is actually a certified personal trainer or someone who actually does coaching because they will give you the truth and best tips. These two pictures are two years almost three to be exact. I have messed up multiple times learned lots and I’m still learning and that’s okay. I still have some work to do but I’m not gonna let anything stop me❤️things take time that’s the great things about fitness there’s always room for improvement ❤️✊🏻
