This message if for my friends, my family, my students, complete strangers, and myself.
So many people are saying it’s okay to not be okay. And I get it. And I love that we are spreading the message that you don’t have to be fine during all this.
I, however, do think it’s more complicated than that, most times. It is also 100% okay to not know what you are feeling. One moment I’m happy, embracing the moment with my kids, the next moment I’m sad because my daughter is asking why she can’t see her friends and I miss the human contact of family and friends. The next moment, I’m anxious because I know I need to make a trip to the grocery store soon and there are more people there than I’d like. .
It’s okay to be sad. But it’s also okay to find pockets of happiness and joy in all this chaos. It’s okay to feel confused, anxious, or overwhelmed. Whatever you are feeling is what you need to feel right now, even if you don’t quite know what feeling it is, exactly. ❤️
❤️ It’s okay. ❤️
