Cook at home with Tinu: Agege bread rolls
So I decided to make agege bread because going all the way to Woolwich to buy bread was just not gonna happen 🙄
See recipe below 😁————————————————————————
1 cup of warm liquid milk (I used sweetened condensed milk and added warm water)
1/2 tablespoons of active dry yeast
4 cups of plain flour (or bread flour)
2/2 tablespoons of sugar
3 tablespoons of softened butter
1 teaspoon salt ————————————————————————
In a large bowl, stir together warm milk, yeast, and 1 tbs sugar. Cover and set aside for about 10 minutes so the yeast can proof (yeast will look foamy)
Add egg, the remaining sugar, salt, butter and 2 cups of flour. Add the rest of the flour gradually until the dough has pulled away from the sides of the bowl.
Start kneading the dough, do this for 10 minutes (guys when I tell you that I was stresseddddd at this point 🤣) The dough should be soft and smooth but still slightly tacky. If you’re not too sure if it’s ready, grab a small piece and if you can roll it into a small ball without it sticking all over to your hands, then you’re good to go.
If not, gradually add more flour as needed.
Once you’re done kneading, divide the dough into equal pieces and form into round balls. Lightly grease your baking pan with butter and place dough at least 2 inches apart. Cover with a clean tea towel and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (I left mine outside for almost 2 hours, mainly because I was watching a Yoruba movie and kinda forgot it outside. I’m sure yours won’t take that long) Whilst dough is rising, preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Bake rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately out of the oven, brush with butter so it can shine and blind your haters (this is optional 🤣) ———————————————————————— #tinusfooddiary #breadbaking #bread #breadmaking #breadlover #breadporn #breadlife #breadandbutter #agegebread #agege #breadwinner #breadbowl #breadstick #breadbasket #breadloaf #breadman #breadandwine #breadmachine #breadtime #breadbakery
