We are only a couple of weeks into the new decade and it’s been a rollercoaster ride already. After a few days of rain, it feels like anything is possible once more. But so much has changed irreparably for so many impacted by the bushfires. While we breathe some fresher air in the city, remember that the shock, grief and insurance battles are only beginning for some. For us literally out of the line of fire, we too need resilience to carry us through whatever comes next.
Simplicity and mindfulness (for more info search these words on my site) help replenish my nervous system after scary and upsetting events. Eating wholesome food. Getting more rest, balanced with walks and a little yoga. Whatever healthy rituals work for you, dust them off and hang on, I suspect it will be a bumpy ride.
