Nurses and midwives play a vital role in treating and containing the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). It’s important the everyday joe blogs recognises that in these challenging circumstances, there may be a need for nurses and midwives to adjust established procedures to provide appropriate care to patients and clients. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
An "inevitable" rise in COVID-19 cases in the region is being predicted over coming weeks. As more cases are diagnosed in regional areas [AUS], pressure is building on local health services. Just remember please do not treat nurses, midwives and other health workers like they are infectious. These trained professionals should be respected and must not be abused, spat on or assaulted as they move through our communities, to and from their workplaces.
So point of this post is we are all in the same boat and predicament which is trying to protect others as well as ourselves from not contracting COVID-19. Just remember to be kind to nurses, doctors, cleaners, phlebotomists, tea person, porters that are all working in the hospital. Nurses and the rest of them don’t have a choice being at work, they are just doing their job- protecting you and are. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Be kind and stay the f%ck home.
