A little late with my NYE post but gotta have it so - Two days after New Years we went to the beach and wrote letters with all the things we needed to say to let go of this year & welcome in the next. It was the most cathartic thing I’ve done in a long time.
This decade had the biggest wins & biggest heartbreaks of my life. I lost, won, cried, laughed, loved, but above all, I learned. I learned so much.
In the past 10 years I: graduated from highschool, then college, travelled to 8 different countries and 12 US states, became a teacher, went to music festivals, changed careers, found my passion, and met the most incredible people along the way. But I also dealt with waves of setbacks, family crises, heartache, self-doubt, loneliness, and sometimes debilitating sadness. In the words of Rupi Kaur “this decade broke my back but gave me a spine.” And I’m now thankful for it all. It’s made me who I am
So I’ll take these memories & lessons with me into the new 20s and see what else life has in store. Forever grateful for the places I’ve been and all the places I have yet to go. 🌏✨ #2020 #quotes #quotestoliveby #poetry #poetrycommunity #poet #nye #love #happy #joy #nyequotes #beach #writing
