even when you’re lost and in the depths of your suffering, there is some part of you that wants things to improve. that knows you deserve to heal, to get better, to release the burden trauma has put on your mind, body, heart and soul.
this instinct to heal, to get better, is what i consider ultimate truth. God, spirit, awareness, whatever you want to call it. it’s what drives us to improve, to be more compassionate, to be BETTER than the shit we’ve been through.
so i choose to follow that instinct. to lean in. to believe in myself, even when it’s really really hard. to reject shame and seek self love as a way to open my heart to the rest of the world.
