WINTER CITRUS SALAD 🍊 using a few seasonal ingredients only ♥️ (𝑎𝑛𝑧𝑒𝑖𝑔𝑒)
This salad could make an eye-catching starter at your Christmas table this year. What do you think? It’s quick to make and rounded off with a simple olive oil vinaigrette 💧 using the cold-pressed @bertollioliveoil
- the fruity, fresh taste with a slight pungent and bitter note perfectly complements the citrus fruits & winter greens in this salad. Simple recipes like this one leave more time for the important things: sharing special moments with our loved ones this Christmas. 🌟
* 4 pieces of citrus fruit (orange, grapefruit, blood orange)
* mixed winter greens
* caramelized walnuts
* 1/2 sliced red onion
* olive oil dressing: 2 Tbs @bertollioliveoil
, 1 Tbs vinegar, 1 Tbs lemon juice, 1 tsp maple syrup, 1 tsp dill, salt and pepper)
To caramelize the walnuts, fry them in 2 Tbs maple syrup and a drizzle of @bertollioliveoil
on high heat for 3-5 minutes. Stir consistently, remove pan from stove and let them cool down to turn crunchy.
Peel citrus, removing as much pith as possible and remove any pits. Slice into wheels. and arrange on a serving dish. Garnish with chopped onion and the dressing. Lastly, sprinkle the caramelized walnuts on top.
Do you have any food traditions for the festivities? 🎄 My family always eat potatoes, cabbage and fish (typical Silesian). My sister and me will make a vegan lentil loaf instead of fish. We switch up our fish alternative every year, still looking for the perfect dish. Have you found yours yet?
